Taekwondo is the ancient Korean Art of Unarmed Combat passed down from Master to devoted student. "Tae" means to smash or kick with the foot. "Kwon" means to punch or attack with the hand. "Do" means the art or way. Literally translated Taekwondo is the art of hand and foot fighting.
TINY TAIGAS (Ages: 4yrs - 7yrs)
Monday: 5:15pm - 6:00pm
Tuesday: 4:30pm - 5:00pm & 5:15pm - 6:00pm
Wednesday: 5:15pm - 6:00pm
Thursday: 4:30pm - 5:00pm & 5:15pm - 6:00pm
Tiny Taigas is a cool and safe martial arts program specially designed for young children. Our exciting Taekwondo classes emphasize a variety of self-defense moves and dynamic exercises that improve confidence, focus and fitness through action-packed fun! The classes also include character-building lessons that children can use in their home, school and community. These lessons address real life issues, such as cooperation, making positive choices, managing frustration or anger and solving conflicts.
The Tiny Taigas program is led by Becky Sloan, M.S., 5th Degree Black Belt. She has over 20 years of experience in Taekwondo and has won U.S. National Gold Medals in both Olympic sparring and competitive forms. Master Becky created Taiga's early childhood Taekwondo program with the mission to help young children set and attain goals, develop healthy habits and build self-esteem so they will experience lasting social and academic success.
At Taiga Taekwondo, we believe in creating an inviting and positive classroom environment. All instructors are elite level and must meet strict requirements.
TAIGA KIDS (AGES: 8YRS - 11YRS)
Tuesday/Thursday: 6:10pm - 7:05pm
Taiga Kids is just that KIDS only! If your child likes hanging with other kids their ages then this class is perfect. Your child will have a great time learning techniques, self-defense, agility, and strength skills.
TAIGA TEENS/ADULTS/FAMILY
(AGES: 12YS & OLDER)
Tuesday/Thursday: 7:15pm - 8:10pm
"The family that kicks together sticks together." Designed with families in mind this class allows everyone to workout together and enjoy Taekwondo to its fullest. In our Taiga Teens/Adults/Family class you will focus on techniques, flexibility, self-defense, strength, and agility. This class does allow students under the age of 12yrs to participate with their parents and/or sibling.
KICKING TECHNIQUE CLASS
Friday: 6:00pm - 6:55pm
Do you like to kick things? Well here is your chance to kick our heavy bags, shields, and paddles as hard as you want. This class is all about kicking technique.
SPARRING CLASS
Wednesday: 6:10pm - 7:05pm
Sparring Class: gives the students a chance to apply the techniques and skills they have acquired in other classes to the sport side of Taekwondo. This class is great way to get your feet wet if you are thing about doing sparring competition.
HOMESCHOOL CLASS
Wednesday: 11:00am - 11:55am
Homeschooling provides a unique opportunity to incorporate specialized physical activities like Taekwondo into a child's curriculum. By including Taekwondo in a homeschool setting, students can benefit from a structured martial arts program that promotes discipline, physical fitness, and self-defense skills, while also encouraging focus and mental resilience. Taekwondo's principles of respect, perseverance and integrity align well with the personalized learning environment of homeschooling, where values-based education is often emphasized. Parents can schedule lessons flexibly, ensuring their child has time to balance academic subjects with physical development. Additionally, Taekwondo training helps foster confidence and leadership skills, making it a well-rounded addition to any homeschool program.
